Actor Rainn Wilson chimed in about the presence of anti-Christian bias in Hollywood. Wilson is not the first member to point towards a pervasive bias against Christians and their values in the entertainment industry.

“I do think there is an anti-Christian bias in Hollywood. As soon as the David character in “The Last of Us” started reading from the Bible I knew that he was going to be a horrific villain. Could there be a Bible-reading preacher on a show who is actually loving and kind?”

On Monday, Wilson tweeted, “I do think there is an anti-Christian bias in Hollywood. As soon as the David character in “The Last of Us” started reading from the Bible I knew that he was going to be a horrific villain. There are certainly examples of movies and TV shows that have been criticized for their negative portrayal of Christianity or Christian characters. For example, some films have been accused of promoting negative stereotypes of Christians as hypocritical, judgmental, or narrow-minded.

Wilson continued “But most Christians that I know are kind, accepting and loving and seeking to make the world a better place. They should also be honored in the media.’
