Florida Senate Files Bill Allowing DeSantis To Run For POTUS While Serving As Governor

Moments after a Manhattan grand jury voted to indict former President Donald Trump, the Republican-led Florida Senate scheduled a committee vote to repeal the state’s “resign to run” law, which requires elected or appointed officials in the state to resign from office before running for a different office.

The move, almost certainly geared to allow Governor Ron DeSantis to run for the 2024 Presidential nomination while remaining governor of the state, was poorly timed, to say the least. But another caveat suggests the move may be very deliberate.

The committee vote is scheduled for April 4, 2023, which is the same day that Trump is scheduled to travel to Manhattan for his arraignment.

Perhaps team DeSantis is angling for an announcement on that very day – while the defacto leader of the Republican Party is facing the most egregious legal abuse of a presidential candidate in U.S. history.

While some conservatives are taking advantage of Trump’s situation, others are standing behind the president stronger than ever before.

The Blaze founder Glenn Beck joined Tucker Carlson Thursday evening to slam the indictment. During the segment, Beck put on a MAGA hat and voiced his support for Trump, saying he has become a “symbol” for average Americans.
