“De-Platforming Works”: AOC Smugly Celebrates Tucker Carlson’s Departure From Fox News

New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez took a victory lap in the early hours of Tuesday morning, releasing a video on Twitter gleefully taking credit for the ouster of Tucker Carlson from Fox News.

“Tucker Carlson is out at Fox News. Couldn’t have happened to a better guy. What I will say though, is while I’m very glad that the person who was arguably responsible for some of the largest, driving some of the most amounts of death threats and violent threats not just to my office but to plenty of people across the country, I also kind of feel like I’m waiting for the cut seen at the end of a Marvel movie when the credits have rolled when you see the villain’s hand reach out to grab the end of a building or something. But de-platforming works and it is important and there you go, good things can happen,” chirped AOC.

Following news Sunday that Fox News reached a $787 million agreement with Dominion Voting Systems to settle a defamation case, the “Squad” member laid blame on Carlson and other Republicans for inciting violence leading up to the January 6th, 2021 riots at the Capitol.

AOC said it would have been “better for the country” if Dominion did not agree to the eye-popping settlement and instead went to trial as the company sought $1.6 billion in damages. She suggested that federal regulators should begin monitoring conservative media outlets like Fox to determine “what’s allowed on the air and what isn’t.”

The congresswoman’s criticism of conservative causes has been a hallmark of her time in office since 2018, accusing not only Fox and other conservative broadcasters of dangerous rhetoric but some of her congressional colleagues as well.

When the House voted to strip Congresswoman and fellow “Squad” member Ilhan Omar (D-MN) from her committee assignments after she made anti-Semitic remarks, Ocasio-Cortez said the move was an “incitement of violence against women of color in this body.”
