Geraldo Out At Fox? Rivera Says His Appearances On ‘The Five’ Have Been Cancelled

Longtime Fox News contributor Geraldo Rivera announced that his appearances on the network’s highly-rated early evening program The Five have been “canceled.”

“My appearances today and tomorrow on The Five have been canceled. I’m sure there’s a good reason. Never fear, I’ll be back week after next. Stay safe and happy. Thanks,” Rivera wrote in a tweet Thursday. He did not provide any additional information as to why he is being replaced on this week’s lineup.

Rivera has not appeared on the show since April 21, which was also Tucker Carlson’s last day at the network. Geraldo frequently serves as one of the show’s left-leaning voices, a role he shares with Jessica Tarlov and former Democrat U.S. Rep. Harold Ford. As a result, Rivera frequently finds himself at odds with co-hosts on various topics.

Last week, Rivera generated controversy for attacking Carlson after his departure from the network was announced. “I don’t wish ill on anybody, but there is no doubt-as I said at the time-Tucker Carlson’s perverse January 6 conspiracy theory was ‘bullshit.’ Having lost the election President Trump incited an insurrection that sought to undermine our Constitutional process,” Rivera wrote in a tweet last week.

Greg Gutfeld, one of Geraldo’s co-hosts on the five, responded by saying, ““You’re a class act Geraldo. A real man of the people.”
