Controversial “The View” co-host Sunny Hostin has once again created drama after contentious comments on racial disparities in education. In Friday’s episode, Hostin claimed that middle-class white children have advantages over wealthy black children due to historical systemic racism.

Hostin stated that “The lived experience of a white kid in Appalachia or perhaps on a potato farm in Idaho or Brooklyn is different in this country for a black student.”

Adding fuel to the fire, Hostin controversially linked the contemporary education system to the dark history of slavery in America, saying, “Whether that black student is wealthy or not, because this country was founded on slavery.”

Her statements paint a one-sided picture of the U.S. education system. Hostin’s blanket application is a broad generalization that does not align with reality.

Hostin’s history of polarizing commentary on “The View” has been under scrutiny for some time. With her latest controversial remarks, many have argued that she is contributing to an already divided public in America, rather than facilitating productive dialogue.
