JUST IN: Former Capitol Police Chief Confirms FBI, DHS Withheld Intelligence On Jan 6

Former U.S. Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund told Tucker Carlson that the FBI, DHS and other federal law enforcement agencies withheld key intelligence that suggested trouble on January 6, 2021. Sund described the events leading up to the incident as highly unusual and suggested that a cover-up was afoot.

Tucker Carlson previously interviewed Sund this past April, though he was ultimately fired by Fox News before the interview could air. Previously unreleased clips from the Fox interview were released by the National Pulse earlier this month.

In the latest interview, Sund described the general build-up to large protests in the nation’s capital. He told Carlson that he held multiple meetings with federal law enforcement agencies, the head of the national guard, the head of the D.C. Metropolitan Police and several other authority figures in the weeks leading up to the protest, but was never informed of any intelligence suggesting a storming of the Capitol building.

“I mean what we’ve learned was out there at the time, versus what we had coming into it – night and day,” Sund said. He explained that the Capitol police have their own intelligence agency — the IICD — which coordinates with other intelligence agencies.

Leading up to January 6, the IICD determined that the rally was going to be no different than previous MAGA rallies. Sund referenced a previous protest that took place just weeks earlier that was entirely peaceful. “But coming into it, absolutely zero, with the intelligence that we know now exists talking about attacking the Capitol, killing my police officers, attacking members of Congress; none of that was included in the intelligence,” Sund said.

He then confirmed that both the FBI and DHS, as well as the military, was in possession of such intelligence but did not share it with the Capitol police. “I cannot overstate how strange that it is, because you were in charge of the actual facility that was the focus of the protest” Carlson replied.

“Don’t take my word for it, there’s now four Congressional reports talking about the intelligence failure. IG reports, GIO reports talking about the various intelligence failures,” Sund went on to say. “But coming into it, ya know think about it, the FBI’s Washington field office didn’t put out a single document specific to January 6.”
