‘Couldn’t Agree More’: Biden’s Press Team Praises DeSantis For Blaming Inflation On Trump

Karine Jean-Pierre and those responsible for tweets on President Biden’s main X account, the social media network formally known as Twitter, agreed with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for blaming sky-high inflation on former President Trump.

DeSantis — who entered the 2024 race as the former president’s most-threatening challenger but has since stumbled in the polls — took aim at Washington D.C. for reckless spending. “The people in Washington are shutting down the American dream with their reckless behavior. They borrowed, they printed, they spent, and now you’re paying more for everything.”

The Florida governor then blamed the inflation issue on both President Biden and former President Trump.

“Where’s Joe Biden? He’s completely missing in action. And you know who else is missing in action? Donald Trump is missing in action.,” DeSantis said. “He should be on this stage tonight. He owes it to you to defend his record, where they added $7.8 trillion to the debt. That set the stage for the inflation that we have.”

President Biden has received abysmal grades for his handling of the economy and the inflation issue, so the administration was quick to praise DeSantis for placing blame on Donald Trump. “Couldn’t agree more,” reads a post on X from Biden’s personal account on Wednesday.

While the post was published under Biden’s main account, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has been caught posting tweets to the account in the past.

Conservative social media expressed disappointment with DeSantis’ statement, accusing him of giving the Biden Administration an easy victory. “DeSantis is really out here carrying water for Joe Biden in front of America. Beyond cringe!” wrote conservative commentator Brenden Dilley.

DeSantis gave Biden a free pass on inflation and blamed it on Trump,” said Jack Posobiec. “The Biden campaign is now thanking DeSantis for his comments and posting the clip everywhere. You’ll hear this from the White House every time the inflation question is ever asked again.”

“Biden campaign sends out clip of @RonDeSantis’ blaming Biden’s inflation on Trump,” former Trump Administration official Ric Grenell chimed in. “DeSantis is in 5th place in New Hampshire because of this desperation.”

According to September’s Harvard/CAPS Harris poll, just 35 percent of respondents said President Biden has handled inflation well.
