Ken Buck Claims He Has Been Evicted From His Office After Refusing To Vote For Jim Jordan

U.S. Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO) has claimed that his office in Windsor will be forced to move after the building owner “evicted” him for refusing to back House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan (R-OH) for House Speaker.

Buck — who has become a fixture on CNN, MSNBC and other corporate media outlets in recent weeks — told NBC’s Kristen Welker that he has received “death threats” over his refusal to vote for Jordan. He also complained about the overwhelming number of phone calls from constituents urging him to vote for Jordan.

“And part of the reason that there’s temper right now is this constant barrage of phone calls. I have six full-time people answering the phones. I have 20,000 messages from people where we couldn’t. So far I’ve had four death threats,” Buck said following a GOP conference meeting earlier this week. He went on to claim that his office in Windsor will be forced to move after he was evicted.

“I’ve been evicted from my office in Colorado. I have notice of an eviction because the landlord is mad with my voting record on this speaker issue. And everybody in the conference is getting this, so it’s natural. Family members have been approached and threatened. All kinds of things are going on. There’s going to be some tension,” he said.

Trent Leisy, a small business owner ad veteran who will be challenging Buck in the district’s upcoming primary, pushed back on the eviction claim with a video uploaded to X.

The footage shows Leisy and a sizable number of protesters outside Buck’s office. Leisy asked a spokeswoman for the building manager if Buck had indeed been evicted, to which she answered “he has not been evicted anywhere.”

Buck’s opponent then pointed to the NBC interview, saying “because he’s been on national television saying he has been evicted from his Windsor office.”

“There is some discussion as to whether or not the lease will be extended,” the spokeswoman replied. “But, it’s not an ‘eviction.'”

Buck has repeatedly argued that Jordan’s “efforts to overturn the 2020 election,” as well as his “involvement with what happened on January 6,” disqualified him from becoming House Speaker.
