Trump Goes Nuclear In Round Of Truth Social Posts; “A Sad Day In America”
Former President Donald J. Trump responded to the Colorado Supreme Court’s ruling disqualifying him from the 2024 Presidential Election in a post to Truth Social Wednesday describing the events as “A sad day in America.”
Trump, the clear frontrunner in the Republican Presidential Primary in every official poll, was barred from being included on the Colorado ballot after the state Supreme Court ruled that Trump had “committed insurrection” on January 6th, 2021. The unprecedented interpretation of the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution has brought a mixture of outrage and heavy criticism from many legal experts across party lines with a scorching dissent even coming from a Democrat-appointed Justice on the very same Court.
Trump continued in a later post,
“Biden should drop all of these fake political indictments against me, both criminal & civil. Every case I am fighting is the work of the DOJ & White House. NO such thing has ever happened in our country before. Banana Republic??? Election interference!!!”
“What a shame for our Country!!!” He added.
Steven Cheung, a Trump Campaign Spokesman said in a statement issued Tuesday, “Unsurprisingly, the all-Democrat appointed Colorado Supreme Court has ruled against President Trump, supporting a Soros-funded, left-wing group’s scheme to interfere in an election on behalf of Crooked Joe Biden by removing President Trump’s name from the ballot and eliminating the rights of Colorado voters to vote for the candidate of their choice.”
“Democrat Party leaders are in a state of paranoia over the growing, dominant lead President Trump has amassed in the polls. They have lost faith in the failed Biden presidency and are now doing everything they can to stop the American voters from throwing them out of office next November.”
Cheung offered a blistering rebuke of the decision describing it as “completely flawed,” continuing, “We will swiftly file an appeal to the United States Supreme Court and a concurrent request for a stay of this deeply undemocratic decision.”
He added, “We have full confidence that the U.S. Supreme Court will quickly rule in our favor and finally put an end to these unAmerican lawsuits.”
Trump reposted a video of Fox News Contributor and George Washington University Shapiro Chair of Public Interest Law Jonathan Turley telling Fox News, “This country is a powder keg and this court is just throwing matches at it…for people that say they are trying to protect democracy, this is hands down the most anti-democratic opinion I’ve seen in my lifetime.”
