Adam Harrison, the son of Pawn Stars icon Rick Harrison, has died of an overdose at 39.

Harrison’s representative, Laura Herlovich, confirmed the tragic news in a statement to the Las Vegas Review Journal. “Our family is extremely saddened by the death of Adam. We ask for privacy as we grieve his loss,” Herlovich said on behalf of the Harrison family.

TMZ first reported that the Harrisons learned of the news on Friday. While exact circumstances surrounding Adam’s death are unknown at this time, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has opened an investigation.

Adam was the second child of Rick Harrison and his ex-wife, Kim. He is the younger brother of series regular Corey Harrison, though Adam did not appear on the long-running series. Adam did work at Gold & Silver Pawn prior to the series’ 2009 premiere, though he has not worked there recently, TMZ reported.

Rick Harrison posted a photo of the two on Instagram, writing, “You will always be in my heart. I love you Adam.”
