WATCH: Trump Opens Up On His Relationship With Melania In New Interview
In an interview with Fox News, former President Donald Trump opened up about his family, particularly focusing on his wife, Melania Trump. The former president praised Melania for her intelligence, explaining that she played a significant role during his presidency and would continue to do so.
“She’s very smart, a very compassionate person. She wants to make America great again, too,” Trump said. “And I would rely on her for advice and all of the others.
Reflecting on the previous election, Trump mentioned the challenges his family faced due to their involvement in politics. “They did such a great job last time and they really were gone after by people that were very unfair,” he said, alluding to the scrutiny and investigations his family underwent.
While discussing his children, Trump highlighted their resilience in the face of constant media attention and political opposition. Additionally, Trump provided a personal tidbit about his son Barron, revealing that he is now 6’8″ tall.

Melania has been reportedly preparing to significantly increase her public appearances in the lead-up to the 2024 presidential campaign, while actively supporting her husband. During their time in the White House, Melania played a somewhat reserved role, often staying out of the limelight compared to her predecessors in the role of First Lady.
However, reports have suggested that she is ready to “leave her mark on history” by taking a more visible and influential role in the upcoming presidential campaign. And she has done so in recent weeks.
Since Trump’s departure from Washington in 2021, Melania has since maintained a low public profile. This is in stark contrast to her husband’s consistent presence in the media and public discussion. This led to speculation about her future role and involvement in politics.
The turning point for Melania’s increased public engagement appears to have been her participation at Rosalynn Carter’s funeral, alongside other former first ladies. Her decision to attend the funeral alone while her husband was absent drew attention. The event was said to have boosted her confidence and readiness to step back into the public sphere.
“Melania realizes it’s her time to join the ranks of historic first ladies and leave her mark on history… She feels better prepared for her potential role the second time around,” a source close to Melania told PageSix in December. They also mentioned that Melania believes she can allocate more time to her responsibilities, as her son Barron is now older.
Another source shared, “The immediate family including Melania is solidly behind the former president.” Following her uncommon presence at Carter’s funeral, Melania, 53, was also seen at a subsequent event alongside Trump. Reports confirmed her presence at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach during a Patriot Awards ceremony.
“They were both in great moods,” observed an onlooker, noting their demeanor. “Melania was going around greeting everyone.”
On top of this, last week Melania publicly paid tribute to her late mother. The funeral on Thursday was attended by family and close friends. On January 9, the former First Lady provided sad news revealing that her mother, Amalija Knavs, had passed away at the age of 78.
“In her presence, we were enveloped in the warmth of her embrace.” Melania expressed her eternal gratitude for the “unparalleled affection she bestowed on us,” and described her as “the best mother, wife, grandmother, mother-in-law, a true beacon of love and luxury in our lives.”
