Oscar Award-Winning Actress Passes Away At 90

Sandra Milo, the celebrated Italian actress famous for her role in Federico Fellini’s “8½,” has passed away at the age of 90. She peacefully passed away in her sleep at her home in Rome, where she was surrounded by her loved ones and her loyal dogs, Jim and Lady, as stated by her family in a message broadcast by RAI television.

The Venice Biennale paid tribute to her with a heartfelt message on social media, saying, “Ciao, Diva!”

Milo, born in 1933 in Tunisia, was a celebrated Italian actress known for her illustrious career in Italian cinema. Her journey in the world of acting began in the 1950s, and she swiftly gained recognition for her talent. Her most notable collaborations were with the legendary Italian director Federico Fellini, starring in iconic films like “La Dolce Vita” (1960), where she portrayed Nadia, and “8½” (1963), where she played the pivotal role of Carla.

Her performance in “8½” earned her critical acclaim and accolades, including the Silver Ribbon Award for Best Supporting Actress. Throughout her career, Sandra Milo exhibited versatility, taking on various roles in comedy, drama, and musicals. While her prominence was most pronounced in the 1950s and 1960s, she continued to contribute to the film industry and television in the subsequent decades.
