BREAKING: JD Vance Uncovers Anti-Trump ‘Kill Switch’ Hidden In Funding Bill

Ohio’s newest Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH) has uncovered what he claims is a plot by top Senate Republicans to essentially kneecap former President Donald Trump from negotiating an end to the war between Russia and Ukraine.

In a statement posted by Republican strategist Andrew Surabian, Sen. Vance reveals how Democrats’ $100 billion “security supplemental” bill establishes a multi-year commitment to provided continued funding to Ukraine, a component he called a “kill switch” included specifically to block President Trump’s America First brand on the world stage.

“Buried In the bill’s text is a kill switch for the next Trump presidency. The legislation explicitly requires funding for Ukraine well into the next presidential term,” Vance wrote.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) echoed those concerns, declaring the bill as it stands “sets in motion the next hyper-partisan Trump impeachment.”

“We must vote against this disastrous bill,” Vance added as news about the provision spread.

Appropriates for both Ukraine and Israel made their way through the upper chamber after negotiations collapsed about enhanced funding and protection along the southern border, a demise that conservatives blamed on House Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY). In their view, the Republican leader entrusted retiring Senator James Lankford (R-OK) to strike a deal with Democrats that would never pass the House; indeed, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) declared the bill “dead on arrival” over its provision authorizing up to 5,000 illegal immigrant crossings per day, currently half of the historic numbers making the trek. President Trump voiced similar distaste for the deal, calling it a giveaway to Democrats.

“Why do you guys want to give these people such a gift? It’s stupid,” Trump told the American Conservative.

After border talks were scuttled, Senate Democrats quickly pushed through the security supplemental, setting up a showdown with the House where Republicans will likely either fail to take up the bill or will add their own conditions for border security and send it back to the Senate.

Time will tell whether Johnson and his allies in the House move to strip the anti-Trump conditions for additional funding for Ukraine. Conservative allies in the Senate are already plotting how to oust McConnell, who they see as a legacy neoconservative more interested in nation-building than focusing on domestic priorities.

Speaking about the deal in the days that followed, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) declared McConnell gave away the farm in his bid to continue supporting Ukraine.

“Mitch McConnell, in effect, gave the largest in-kind campaign contribution to the Democrats’ Senate campaign committee in history,” Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz told the Daily Caller.

“I think this is our opportunity to take him out, and we’re sort of working to figure out if that’s possible. I think that there’s a bit of a chicken and egg problem where I think you probably have the votes, but you need somebody to step forward and that person’s that’s unwilling to step forward unless you have the votes, it can’t just be a Mike and Ted and a sort of everybody who hates Mitch thing,” one Republican senator, who was granted anonymity to speak freely without worry of retaliation from leadership, told the Caller. “You obviously have to get kind of the middle of the conference. So that’s all being worked on behind the scenes. And I think, frankly, how this vote works out will help determine whether the conference, broadly speaking, is willing to go in that direction.”

Sen. Vance added that McConnell was “desperate” to make a deal.

“I’ve even heard privately, Democratic colleagues, tell me ‘your leadership was desperate to make a deal, that it made us less willing to negotiate’. So this is an open secret that these guys were not driving a hard bargain and you see the results in the border package that came out,” Vance told the Daily Caller. “And now we’re seeing the second step of the process, which is kill the border package. Jam through the Ukraine package. It doesn’t make any sense.”
