WATCH: CNN Host Gets Humiliated After Guest Goes Off The Rails

CNN host Abby Phillip got an earful from one rapper booked to come on and share his thoughts about a recent apology from Diddy after he released a video apologizing for beating a former girlfriend in 2016.

From the start, Cam’ron, 48, took control of the interview, smacking down Phillip’s questions as irrelevant and suggesting that studio bookers didn’t give him a heads up that the entire interview would be about Diddy, the media mogul whose house was recently raided by the FBI as part of a sprawling human trafficking investigation. Following CNN’s release of hotel footage showing Diddy beating his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, Phillip brought Cam’ron in to give his thoughts on Diddy’s contrition – but that’s about as far as it got before the interview went off the rails.

“Everything in the video was egregious, I’m against,” Cam’ron said. “He’s not necessarily a friend, but yeah I was upset when I seen it.” Despite previously denying abuse against Ventura, Diddy was caught red-handed chasing her down a hotel hallway wearing nothing but a white towel around his waist. When he caught up with her at an elevator, he grabbed her by the neck, throwing her to the ground where she lied still while he kicked her repeatedly before dragging her across the floor. The encounter matches previous descriptions in a lawsuit filed by Ventura which was quickly settled by lawyers for Diddy.

When Phillip attempted to ask Cam’ron if he “recognized” Diddy, whose given name is Sean Combs, the rapper bristled.

“I don’t know him like that. What do you mean do I be recognizing him?” he replied. “I seen him. I thought it was disgusting. I didn’t do a zoom in to see if it was really him. When she pressed whether Diddy’s apology was authentic, Cam’ron shot back, “The apology’s not for me to decide. It’s for Cassie. What I think about it don’t matter.”

Phillips then turns to recent comments made by Cam’ron on his podcast where he chats with rapper Mase about his signing to Diddy’s Bad Boy Records decades ago.

“Is there something known in the industry about how Diddy treated his artists?” Cam’ron takes a break to drink a sexual stimulant. “Sorry, I’m going to get some cheeks after this horsepower drink,” he tells Phillips, adding that Mase signed to Diddy’s label, not him, and she should have brought him on if she wanted an answer. He then encouraged viewers to watch his podcast on YouTube.

In a desperate final probe, Phillip asked if Diddy “could get away with this stuff if there weren’t a lot of people protecting him,” prompting Cam’ron to berate his bookers and nearly walk off the set. “Who is the talent agent for this joint? Like you think I be sitting around watching what Diddy doin’ all this? I didn’t know this was a Diddy joint that y’all invited me to,” he shot back before asking a staffer off-screen why he was booked in the first place.

“Thanks for joining us, thank you for your time tonight,” Phillip said in a close-out that has since gone viral.
