Mike Tyson Updates Fans After Medical Emergency On Flight
Former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson experienced a medical emergency during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles this past Sunday. According to eyewitness accounts and a subsequent statement from his representatives, Tyson, 57, suffered nausea and dizziness caused by an ulcer flare-up.
The incident occurred on American Airlines flight 1815, which faced a two-hour delay in Miami due to air conditioning issues amid the city’s sweltering heat. Tyson was first seen in the Admirals Club before being escorted to the gate. Despite the delay, which pushed his boarding time from 5:10 p.m. to approximately 6:30 p.m., Tyson remained accommodating to fans, posing for photos and engaging with passengers.
The situation escalated roughly 30 minutes before the plane was scheduled to land at Los Angeles International Airport. A pre-recorded announcement was broadcast throughout the cabin, urgently requesting the assistance of any onboard medical personnel. “Medical assistance needed,” the message repeated, elevating the concerns of those onboard.
Now feeling 100% even though I don’t need to be to beat Jake Paul.

The health scare comes just weeks before Tyson’s much-anticipated return to the ring. Scheduled for July 20 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, Tyson is set to face off against 27-year-old YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul. Despite the age difference and his recent health issue, Tyson has expressed determination regarding the upcoming bout.

In an interview with Sean Hannity on Fox News Channel in April, Tyson revealed his feelings about the fight. “I’m scared to death,” Tyson admitted. “But as the fight gets closer, the less nervous I become because it’s reality. And in reality, I’m invincible.” He also highlighted his daily training routine, which has notably included abstaining from sex and marijuana to prepare for the fight.
Jake Paul, on the other hand, has not shied away from expressing his intentions to end Tyson’s career with this fight. “I have to reciprocate that same energy. But Mike Tyson is a killer. He’s ruthless. He’s the most vicious champion ever. So, I have to channel that Mike Tyson energy to finish him. And the legend must fall,” Paul boasted in a statement to TMZ.
