WATCH: Supporters Mob Trump’s Motorcade In Newport Beach, California As He Arrives For Another High-Profile Fundraiser

Several hundred supporters of former President Donald Trump lined the streets of Newport Beach, California as the former president arrived in town for a fundraiser.

Supporters dressed in red, white and blue, as well as Trump gear, could be seen lined up across several city blocks for hours ahead of the former president’s arrival. All along Jamboree Road and Bayside Drive, supporters held signs reading, “Welcome, President Trump” and “Trump 2024, Take America Back.”

Trump’s motorcade arrived shortly after 12:40 p.m. local team, according to a report from the Los Angeles Daily News. The motorcade was met with cheers and shouts from the crowd as the former president waved to supporters from behind the glass. Passersby also stopped to honk their horns in support of the former president.

Trump will hope to continue his massive fundraising boost since he was convicted on 34 felony counts in Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s “hush money” case that has been plagued by political bias.

In the 48 hours following the conviction, both Trump and the RNC raised more than $70 million dollars, eclipsing Biden’s haul for the entire month of April. The majority of these donations were classified as small-dollar donations between $1 and $200. More than 30 percent of donors were donating to the campaign for the first time.

Trump has long led President Biden in small-dollar donations, though Trump is now rapidly erasing Biden’s fundraising lead that he built up while the Republican primary was ongoing.

The former president has received support from a number of megadonors in recent weeks, including longtime GOP donor Miriam Adelson, who plans to pour more than $90 million into Trump’s campaign. 

Without including the fundraising totals from Trump’s California trip — which has included a Silicon Valley fundraiser hosted by David Sacks — Trump has raised more than $400 million since the conviction.
