Ex-FBI Director Is Terrified Of Trump, Says Top Bureau Officials May Flee The Country If He Wins

Former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe claimed that several high-ranking FBI personnel are planning to flee the country if former President Donald Trump is re-elected in November.

McCabe, who now works as an analyst for CNN, told network host Kaitlin Collins that intelligence community members are worried they may be prosecuted for their participation in numerous hoaxes, such as the “Russian collusion” lie and the bogus letter that falsely labeled Hunter Biden’s laptop as “Russian disinformation” just ahead of the 2020 election.

“It’s terrifying. It’s frightening,” McCabe said. The former assistant director pointed to one of Trump’s rally quotes in which he claimed he will be “retribution” for disenfranchised American voters, predicting that it will culminate in “really dismantling and greatly incapacitating the Department of Justice and the FBI.”

When asked how Trump’s comments are received within the intelligence community, McCabe stated that it deeply worries them. He went on to say that he was told by former colleagues who worked under the Obama Administration that they’ve had “torturous discussions with their family members about whether or not they have to leave the country to avoid being unconstitutionally and illegally detained.”

“I mean, people are actually worried about being thrown in jail or grabbed in some sort of extrajudicial detention,” McCabe told Collins.

McCabe served as deputy director under former FBI Director James Comey during the agency’s bogus investigation into “collusion” between former President Donald Trump and the Russian government. A years-long independent investigation headed up by Special Counsel John Durham found that the investigation was launched without merit.

Intelligence officials were found to have opened unwarranted investigations into low-level Trump aides like Carter Page and then leaking details of the investigation to mainstream media outlets in order to give the Russian collusion probe validity. It also drew from the thoroughly debunked Steele dossier, which was funded by the Clinton campaign.

Intelligence officials also played a prominent role in downplaying the bombshell Hunter Biden laptop story that was released just weeks before the 2020 election by the New York Post. Current Secretary of State Anthony Blinken approached former acting CIA director Mike Morell in order to help quash the game-changing story.

Morrell was able to solicit signatures from 51 former intelligence officials who claimed the laptop contained “hallmarks of a Russian disinformation campaign.” The bogus letter was then used by mainstream media outlets and social media companies to censure the damaging story.

McCabe briefly served as acting director until he was fired by then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions in 2018.
