Trump Confronts Biden Over January 6 Prosecutions: ‘You Should Be Ashamed Of Yourself’

Former President Trump told President Biden that he should be “ashamed of himself” over the ruthless, one-sided January 6 prosecutions during Thursday night’s presidential debate.

When asked how he would respond to voters who claim that he “violated his oath of office” on January 6, Trump pointed to the fact that he authorized National Guard personnel to be deployed on January 6, something that has been confirmed by a number of National Guard whistleblowers.

Well, I didn’t say that to anybody. I said peacefully and patriotically. And Nancy Pelosi, if you just watched the news from two days ago, on tape to her daughter, who is a documentary filmmaker, they say. But she’s saying, oh, no, it’s my responsibility. I was responsible for this because I offered her 10,000 soldiers or National Guard and she turned them down,” Trump said, pointing to a recent video in which then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) claimed responsibility for January 6.

More than three years after the January 6 protests, the Biden DOJ continues to hunt down and arrest January 6 protesters for predominantly non-violent crimes. More than 1,400 Americans have been charged, while the DOJ has stated that more than 2,000 cases could be brought by the time statutes of limitations expire.

While January 6 protesters are raided by armed FBI tactical teams, shackled and thrown in prison, the Biden DOJ has employed no such standard for violent BLM and Antifa rioters who ransacked downtown D.C. for days in 2020. Not one person who stormed the White House and forced former President Donald Trump into a secure bunker in June 2020 was ever charged.

Biden has also repeatedly advanced the lie that Capitol Police officers were murdered by the pro-Trump crowd on January 6. “Over 140 police officers were injured. Jill and I attended the funeral of police officers who died as a result of the events of that day because Donald Trump’s lies,” the president said in a dark speech on the three-year anniversary of the protests.

Numerous Democrat leaders and officials, including President Biden, have repeated the false claim that Capitol Police officers were murdered by the crowd on January 6. Officer Brian Sicknick passed away in the days following the protests, though the cause of death was determined to be natural causes.

This did not stop mainstream media outlets and Democrat leaders from spreading a lie that Sicknick was beaten to death with a fire extinguisher, however. President Biden and the First Lady did attend Sicknick’s funeral and attributed his death to the protesters.

Biden once again repeated the lie during Thursday’s debate by claiming that the crowd killed police officers.

“Look, he encouraged those folks to go up there on Capitol Hill,” Biden said. “I sat in the dining room off the Oval Office. He sat there for three hours, three hours watching, begging, being begged by his vice president and a number of his colleagues on the Republican side as well to do something, to call for a stop, to end it. Instead, he talked about these people being patriots and great patrons of America.”

Biden also repeated the “bloodbath hoax” by claiming that Trump has promised a “bloodbath” if he loses the election in November. The thoroughly debunked quote stems from a rally where Trump promised a “bloodbath” for the auto industry if Biden wins.
