JUST IN: GOP Rep. Hits Kamala Harris With Articles Of Impeachment

Rep. Andy Ogles has initiated impeachment proceedings against Vice President Kamala Harris, citing high crimes and misdemeanors. The charges stem from her approach to border issues, allegations of failing to uphold the Constitution, and not fulfilling her duties as Vice President.

Vice President Harris has been attempting to establish her legitimacy among Democrats after Biden’s decision not to run for reelection, marking the start of what may be one of the more daunting challenges. The impeachment articles charge Harris with “high crimes and misdemeanors.”

They allege she “has willfully and systemically refused to uphold Federal immigration laws, in that: In her conduct of the Office of Vice President of the United States, Kamala Devi Harris… has willfully prevented, obstructed, and impeded the administration of justice.”

“Kamala Harris has demonstrated extraordinary incompetence in the execution of her duties and responsibilities, a stark refusal to uphold the existing immigration laws, and a palpable indifference to people of the United States suffering as a result of the ongoing southern border crisis in the United States,” the letter states. “Vice President Harris has consistently refused to visit the southern border to evaluate this ongoing national crisis, aside from a single trip hundreds of miles away from the epicenter of the migrant crisis.”

“Women and girls in the United States have paid a disproportionate price for the ongoing border crisis, tragically extenuated by the inaction of border czar Kamala Devi Harris. In August 2023, Rachel Morin, a mother of 5, was raped and killed by an illegal alien. In September 16 2023, an illegal alien attacked a woman and her 9-year-old daughter in Los Angeles. On May 14, 2024, an illegal alien from Turkey raped a 15-year-old New York girl after threatening to beat her with a pipe. In February 2024, a 22-year-old nursing student Laken Riley was killed by an illegal alien.”

According to POLITICO’s Olivia Beavers, Ogles mentioned that the resolution is crafted to have privileged status, although it’s uncertain when he will proceed with it. Regarding the timing, Ogles stated, “It depends on when we’re here. I mean, there’s some talk that we won’t even be here on Thursday.”

When asked whether he aimed to resolve this before the August recess, he responded, “If our work isn’t done, why would we leave?” Concerning the upcoming August recess, he expressed his dissatisfaction, saying, “I have a problem with that. I think we have Appropriations bills to address and we need to impeach the vice president.”

Since the Biden-Harris administration took office, the U.S. border has been a focal point. Republicans have pointed out that the administration’s policies have led to an increase in illegal crossings and a crisis at the southern border.

Notably, the discontinuation of the “Remain in Mexico” policy, which required asylum seekers to wait in Mexico while their claims were processed in the U.S., marked a significant shift. The number of encounters at the southern border has reached historic highs. Vice President Harris, appointed by Biden to address the root causes of migration from Central America, has continuously faced backlash over her handling of the crisis.
