Laura Ingraham HUMILIATES Guest In Must-See Squabble: ‘Don’t Get Upset, You’re A Big Boy!’

At the Democratic National Convention on Wednesday, Fox News host Laura Ingraham and Fox Business’s Dagen McDowell confronted former Obama adviser Robert Wolf over the Biden-Harris administration’s job numbers. The U.S. Department of Labor announced on Wednesday a significant downward revision of job gains previously reported for the 12 months ending in March.

The revision, totaling a reduction of 818,000 jobs, adjusts the number of jobs created in the past year to approximately 2.1 million from the initially estimated 2.9 million. This doesn’t indicate job losses but provides updated estimates on the actual job creation during the specified period, signaling potential concerns about the pace of economic growth.

“This is a massive scandal in my view. It’s a massive screw-up on behalf of the Bureau of Labor Statistics, so leave it to the government to be government, so to speak,” Ingraham explained. The conversation quickly heated as McDowell cited former Council of Economic Advisors Chairman Kevin Hassett: “The United States is now in a recession. The manufacturing industry has already been in a recession for over two years and in this report, manufacturing lost 115,000 jobs.”

“So yes, for one year period, they reduced it from 250,000 per month to 175, which still makes, including if I take out the COVID year for former President Trump, he averaged about 180,000 jobs per month. President Biden, including this revision today, is 250,000. You know math. 250 is greater than 180,” Wolf argued.

The debate turned to energy independence, a sore point given recent policy shifts. Ingraham questioned the logic behind curtailing drilling on federal lands. “So, when we cut off drilling on federal lands… don’t get upset, you’re a big boy, you can take a strong woman,” Ingraham shot at Wolf.

Wednesday’s announcement from the Bureau of Labor Statistics marked the largest downward revision in job gains since 2009. Although significant, the adjustment of 818,000 was somewhat less severe than some analysts had anticipated, with estimates suggesting it could have reached as high as 1 million according to NBC News.

The recent revisions to employment figures revealed that the professional and business services sector experienced the most substantial adjustment, with a decrease of 358,000 jobs from previously reported numbers. The leisure and hospitality sector also saw a notable reduction, with employment figures adjusted downward by 150,000 jobs.

“Kamala Harris obviously thinks that the fossil fuel industry is part of the problem because she wants to get rid of all fossil fuel production, period, by 2050. She wants to end fracking…She, but she will not get in front of a camera and say where she stands today,” McDowell criticized.

The segment concluded with McDowell questioning the Democratic Party’s economic policies and their impact on the American worker, particularly in manufacturing. “I’m going to say one thing about manufacturing. Regional Fed surveys and the PMI indexes started contracting in the spring of 2022. They are still not expanding. That my friend is a recession. Well, our trade deficit is going up at the same time.”

The release of the revised employment data coincides with a critical political time during the DNC as Vice President Kamala Harris seeks to capitalize on her momentum as the Democrats’ presidential nominee for 2024.
