Bruce Willis’ Family Shares Devastating Health Update
Tallulah Willis got candid about her father Bruce Willis’ ongoing battle with frontotemporal dementia, revealing the profound impact it’s had on her family. Willis’ daughter shared insights into Bruce’s condition and how she, along with her sisters Rumer and Scout, are supporting each other through these trying times.
“It’s the same, which in this situation is a good thing,” Tallulah told E! News in an interview. “Our visits have so much love and I feel that. That overarches anything for me is being able to have that connection.” The daughter of Hollywood icons Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, Tallulah’s update shed light on a family united in the face of adversity. Tallulah is the youngest of the Hollywood duo. The couple also has two other daughters, Rumer and Scout, rounding out a trio of sisters.
“I know he knows how much I love him. I know how much he loves me, I know how much he loves all of us,” she said. “It’s a hard thing for anyone going through this. But it has really created an opportunity for more love for my family. There’s so much love in our family. It’s love that is very supportive and very sturdy. There’s not a fragility to the support or conditionality to how we support each other.”

“We are in a very unique position where we have this platform. All of us do… all of us in our own ways, have a voice… and I think it’s been ingrained… I know for me, especially, ‘How can we use something that’s painful or challenging or a struggle and create awareness about it?’”
“I think one of the most beautiful things … you know, whenever you’re sharing personal news with the world, it can always be a bit scary,” Rumer Willis said earlier this year. “But I think what’s been so lovely is the amount of people that reach out and just come up to me and share how much they love my dad or what an impact or just sharing that they’re praying for us.”
Bruce Willis’ struggle with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) has brought widespread attention to this relatively lesser-known form of dementia. FTD affects the front and sides of the brain, leading to significant changes in behavior, personality, and language—differing from the memory focus seen in more familiar types like Alzheimer’s disease.

Willis’ family announced in early 2023 that he would be stepping away from acting due to health concerns, later specifying FTD as the reason. This form of dementia typically strikes at a younger age than Alzheimer’s, and the symptoms can be profoundly disruptive to daily life. For Willis, the diagnosis meant a withdrawal from the thriving career and public life he enjoyed for decades. His family has been open about the challenges ahead, relaying their commitment to supporting him through his health journey. The actor’s condition has also led to increased public interest and advocacy for research and understanding of FTD.
