WATCH: Kamala Harris Debuts Yet Another New Accent At Detroit Campaign Event
Vice President Kamala Harris once again deviated from her normal voice and proceeded to speak with yet another brand new accent during a campaign event in Detroit.
In the latest instance, Harris appeared to be channeling a soul preacher while speaking about organized labor. “You betta thank a union member for sick leave. You betta thank a union member for paid leave. You betta thank a union member for vacation time,” Harris, the child of wealthy parents of Jamaican and Indian heritage, who grew up in Canada, told the crowd.

Monday’s speech featured the third new accent Harris has debuted since becoming the de-facto Democratic Party presidential nominee in July.
While speaking to supporters in Georgia a little over three weeks ago, Harris spoke with a southern accent. “And you all helped us win in 2020, and we gon’ do it again in 2024,” the vice president declared with a southern twang.
The southern accent has made additional appearances from time-to-time.
While addressing voters ahead of the Georgia Senate runoff elections in 2020, Harris spoke with some sort of southern drawl while speaking in Columbus. “We’re looking across the country at so much devastation. People who have lost family members, lost time being able to go to work, lost time in terms of our children’s education and the days of their education they have missed,” then Vice President-elect Harris told supporters while frequently pausing as if she were giving a sermon.
Detroit also seems to draw out Harris’ new accents, as she spoke with an accent that was not her own during her last visit to Detroit.
“Here’s the thing; the courts are gonna handle dat, we gon’ beat em’ in Novemba. We got’ beat em’ in November,” Harris told the crowd.
