Dan Bongino UNLOADS On ‘Conservative’ Writer Attacking Trump Family
Conservative commentator Dan Bongino is not holding back after a National Review writer, Natan Ehrenreich, took aim at Lara Trump, the co-chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC), for her involvement in a music video tribute to firefighters. Bongino, a staunch supporter of Donald Trump and his family, blasted Ehrenreich on social media, calling the writer’s critique “idiotic” and expressed his frustration over the direction of the publication once regarded as a conservative stalwart.
The debacle began when Ehrenreich, writing for the National Review, described Lara Trump’s music video, titled “Hero,” as “cringe-inducing” in a tweet. The video, produced alongside Madeline Jaymes, was intended to honor firefighters. However, Ehrenreich questioned the timing of the project, particularly with a pivotal election on the horizon, suggesting that the RNC co-chair’s focus on such efforts was misplaced.

Ehrenreich wrote in the National Review.
When Donald Trump installed his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, as co-chair of the Republican National Committee, he assuredly picked the best person for the job. Her qualifications to run one of the two major American political parties are impeccable: She studied at the French Culinary Institute in New York, and her last name is Trump.
Now, she is vindicating her supporters by spending the crucial months ahead of the election by releasing fresh music videos! Alongside Madeline Jaymes, she recently released “Hero,” a moving (read: cringe-inducing) tribute to firefighters. If you want to be inspired (read: inspired to stab your eyeballs and tear your ears off), feel free to check the whole thing out below. It’s an important reminder of the amazing things our Republican Party leaders are up to in these pivotal times.
Bongino, who has long criticized the National Review for its shift away from the populist conservative movement, quickly jumped to Lara’s defense. Responding to Ehrenreich’s post, Bongino unleashed a series of tweets criticizing both the writer and the magazine for what he viewed as an unnecessary and misguided attack on Lara Trump. “Only the most critical election of our lifetime, against the most radical leftist we’ve ever seen, and this is the kind of bull**** National Review is focused on. SMH,” Bongino tweeted.

“It’s my fault for noticing that Lara Trump, the co-chair of the Republican National Committee, is spending the months ahead of the ‘most critical election of our lifetime’ making music videos,” Ehrenreich responded, seemingly mocking Trump’s priorities.

In a follow-up post, Bongino doubled down on his criticism of Ehrenreich, stating, “This little d*uche will never understand why he’s an imbecile. He’s twelve years old with zero life experience. And a once great publication published his drivel, while the real warriors are trying to save the country.”

Bongino’s remarks reflect a frustration shared by many Trump loyalists who feel that internal division within the conservative movement distracts from the more pressing goal of winning elections against an increasingly radical left. Lara Trump, who has remained a key figure in Republican politics partly due to her marriage to Eric Trump, has continued to play an active role in the party’s operations. For Bongino and others in the Trump camp, Ehrenreich’s criticism seemed petty and irrelevant, particularly given the high stakes of the upcoming election.
