JD Vance Leaves ABC Host Speechless In Fiery Interview

The debate around Venezuelan gangs taking over apartment buildings in Aurora, Colorado continued to rage on Sunday after an ABC host was called out by Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) for downplaying the effect of the violence stemming from years of mass migration.

According to “ABC World News Tonight” anchor Martha Raddatz, “only a handful” of apartments have been appropriated by the Venezuelan gang known as Tren de Aragua, or TdA, a sprawling gang headquartered in Venezuela that counts more than 5,000 members across North and South America. Their motto is “real until death,” or “real hasta la muerte,” a reminder that they feel “no accountability” to the police, one furious resident told a local Fox News affiliate. Gang takeovers were first reported in August when dramatic security footage from an Aurora apartment complex appeared to show heavily armed men banging down doors and terrorizing residents.

Raddatz challenged Sen. Vance to defend comments by former President Donald Trump that police have responded to a bevy of incidents by Venezuelan gangs, declaring “only a handful” have been proven out. Vance looked back at her ludicrously. “Only a handful! Do you hear yourself? Only a handful of apartment complexes in America were taken over by Venezuelan gangs, and Donald Trump is the problem? Not Kamala Harris’s open border? Americans are so fed up with what’s going on, and they have every right to be.”

Going on: “I really find this exchange, Martha, sort of interesting because you seem to be more focused with nitpicking every little thing that Donald Trump has said rather than acknowledging apartment complexes in the United States of America are being taken over by violent gangs. I worry so much more about that problem than anything else here. We’ve got to get American communities safe space again. Unfortunately, when you let people in by the millions, most of whom are unvetted, most of whom you don’t know who they really are, you’re going to have problems like this.”

Throughout the Biden-Harris administration, 94 executive orders were issued relaxing regulations around the border, according to Vance. Those extreme changes have upended border patrol’s ability to regulate who is allowed into the U.S. as a wealth of new nationals are allowed to apply for asylum by stating they have a credible fear of persecution if they return home. Instances of migrant violence have occurred around the country as well, including Chicago, New York City, Massachusetts, and other blue enclaves where droves of migrants have arrived or been bused in by red states seeking to make sanctuary cities feel the consequences of their policies.

In October, the U.S. Inspector General released a devastating report on vulnerabilities to Americans as a result of mass immigration. The DHS Inspector General’s investigation focused on the release of noncitizens who lacked proper identification and their subsequent ability to travel freely within the United States on domestic flights. According to the report, while CBP and ICE have protocols to verify the identity of noncitizens upon entry, there are significant gaps in their ability to confirm identities when noncitizens lack documentation fully. According to the findings, “TSA’s vetting and screening procedures do not eliminate the risk that noncitizens who may pose a threat to fellow passengers could board domestic flights.” This is an acknowledgment that the current system leaves open potential security gaps, especially considering the scale of undocumented individuals entering the U.S.

“It’s embarrassing that the Biden-Harris administration needs an official government watchdog to tell them what anyone with the slightest bit of common sense intuitively understands,” Rep. Mark Green (R-NC) told Fox News. “This administration should not be letting unvetted non-citizens roam free in our communities and get on planes, especially when their identities cannot even be verified. The colossal failures documented by the OIG are bad enough—even worse is that they are happening on a daily basis with the blessing of the Biden-Harris White House.”
