WATCH: ‘Morning Joe’ Host Loses It Over Trump’s Garbage Truck Photo Op

Published

on

Former President Donald Trump commandeered a dumpster truck in Wisconsin on Wednesday, mugging for the cameras while reminding Cheese State voters that President Joe Biden thinks MAGA supporters are “garbage.” The imagery was too much for the talking heads on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” who nearly exploded as they tried to dissect the former president’s latest move.

Host Joe Scarborough was in prime meltdown mode, imitating a pearl-clutching Trump upset over Biden’s gaffe but sounding more like Elmo from “Sesame Street.” Co-hosts Mika Brzezinski and Willie Geist looked on as Scarborough doled out whatever came to mind in the moment. Trump, he said, has called the press “scum” or worse. “So there you go, Mika. The hypocrisy over a misstatement by Joe Biden which he quickly corrected is so laughable, because [Trump] does this every day,” Scarborough said, shaking his fist in anger. “And then you turn on Fox News again – ‘Oh! How could anybody do this? I’ve never seen anybody do this before?'” the liberal stalwart faux-yelled in an ear-splitting screech. Brzezinski and Geist smiled back uncomfortably.

When he stopped getting mileage out of his Elmo voice, Scarborough shifted to his tried-and-true strategy of tying Trump to J6. “One of the people saying that yesterday on Fox News stood by while Donald Trump watched violence erupt on January the 6th and kept allowing violence to erupt on January 6th and say the people who were beating the hell out of cops were patriots. So yes, yes, Willie – the gaslighting, never, ends,” Scarborough finished, adding he is “sad for those voters” who Trump must think are “stupid” for believing him.

The tightening presidential race hasn’t been kind to the “Morning Joe” trio as they’ve been forced to ignore or explain away polls showing Vice President Kamala Harris badly underperforming expectations in key demographics. Trump, despite all his perceived flaws, continues to hover at her level or slightly above, both nationally and in swing states that will determine the election. Scarborough, once a moderate Republican congressman from Florida, has since morphed into an unidentifiable shadow of himself now outraged by the slightest hint of a Trump victory.

Following Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally, Brzezinski, also Scarborough’s wife, appeared visibly shaken while downplaying scenes from Sunday Night’s expansive Manhattan event where thousands heard from Trump. “I think a lot of people are seeing that rally at Madison Square Garden, seeing all those people, doesn’t mean he’s going to win the race,” she told a panel. “But my point is it’s discouraging that so many people would gather and rally to hate, to hate speech in America. It’s discouraging, and it hurts.”

President Biden relied on “Morning Joe” to run cover in the weeks between his disastrous debate and exit from the race, but even their quarter was not safe as Biden faced softball questions about his age and mental acuity. The 81-year-old snapped at Brzezinski for daring to call him the Democratic Party’s “presumptive” nominee. “I’m more than presumptive, I’m gonna be the Democratic nominee,” Biden fired back during his crisis appearance. By the end of the month, he had ended his campaign.
