Well-known attorney Alan Dershowitz revealed devastating personal news on Monday. Taking to social media, he announced the death of his son, Elon Dershowitz, who passed away on Sunday at the age of 64. Family members said Elon suffered a stroke.

The younger Dershowitz was a well-known film producer who helped bring to life the film “Reversal of Fortune” starring legendary actors Glenn Close and Jeremy Irons. Elon produced films across a variety of genres. Projects such as Denzel Washington’s “Fallen” and the controversial Oliver Stone classic “Wall Street” were included in his portfolio.

Along with the films he produced, Elon Dershowitz also helped to produce his dad’s podcast, “The Dershow,” and produced a number of sports documentaries for ESPN. Some of the most well-known include “Pete Rose on Trial,” “Break Up the Bombers,” and “Whose Curse is Worse.”

Elon’s documentaries were known for mixing storytelling with sports, which was one of his life’s passions. He especially loved the game of basketball and kept tabs on his favorite teams in both the NBA and the WNBA.

The famed attorney, who also serves as an emeritus law professor at Harvard University and writes a number of op-eds for conservative outlets, shared a link to a story from Newsmax that announced the passing of his dearly beloved son.

Elon started performing when he was very young, putting on magic shows for a wide variety of individuals. His audience included former Sen. Edward Kennedy of Massachusetts, and the Boston Celtics basketball team.

He was preceded in death by his mom, Sue, and his aunt, Marilyn. He is survived by his father, Alan, his stepmom, and a number of other family members. A funeral is to be held on Tuesday in New York City.

For those who might be a little less familiar with Alan Dershowitz’s work, he’s represented a number of high-profile folks over his lengthy career in the legal profession. That list includes individuals such as Jeffrey Epstein, O.J. Simpson, and President Donald Trump during his first impeachment trial.

The elder Dershowitz has penned over 50 books over the course of his career.

Many took to the social media platform X to share their condolences for the loss of Elon. One individual said, “Wow, that’s heartbreaking. Thoughts are with Alan Dershowitz and his family during this unimaginable time.”

Another wrote, “I’m sorry. It’s unbearable to lose a child, regardless of age.”
