WATCH: Allan Lichtman Accuses Liberal Host Of ‘Blasphemy’ For Mocking His Failed Election Prediction
American University professor Allan Lichtman, who claimed to have predicted the last several election cycles using his “13 Keys” election model, accused The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur of “blasphemy” for mocking his failed 2024 Election prediction.
Lichtman’s “13 Keys” have become a staple of presidential election discourse in recent cycles due to his decent track record of predicting outcomes. The keys grade each major party’s candidates on a number of economic, national security and overall public opinion metrics before predicting a winner based on which party is in control of more “keys.”
The methodology behind Lichtman’s keys are subjective, as he gave Vice President Kamala Harris the nod for short and long-term economic success, a pick that deviated from months of mainstream polling data that found widespread dissatisfaction with the economy among likely voters. He also claimed that President-elect Trump lacked Charisma, and determined that the Biden-Harris Administration was not dealing with any major scandals.

Lichtman ultimately predicted a crushing victory for Harris, giving her eight of 13 keys. He even produced his own election map for the first time, predicting that Democrats would carry North Carolina and Georgia.

In the days following his wildly off-base election prediction, Lichtman has claimed that the keys were absolutely correct and has blamed his loss on “disinformation.”
“We’ve always had disinformation, but disinformation has exploded to an unprecedented degreeYou talked about a grievance election, but a lot of that grievance was driven by disinformation. Starts with Fox News and conservative media, conservative podcasters with tens of millions of views,” Lichtman ranted during a recent appearance on News Nation.
“But we’ve seen something brand new this time. The 300 billionaire Elon Musk putting his thumb on the scales through his control of X, formerly Twitter. It’s been reported that his misinformation has had billions, literally billions of views and this is spread to every aspectof this election. There is misinformation about everything about the economy, inflation, jobs, unemployment, the stock market, growth. There is vast disinformation about undocumented immigrants, you know, that they are supposedly, killers.”
On Tuesday, Lichtman was involved in a heated spat with The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur during an appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored. Uygur — much to the dismay of his followers — had predicted that polls were overestimating Harris in the weeks leading up the election and vehemently disagreed with Lichtman’s keys in a previous debate.
“Don’t blame the voters. I think, look, we can get into this discussion but one, I think you’re blaming the voters. I think that’s a terrible idea,” Uygur said. “And look, I debated professor Lichtman before, I told him his theories about the keys were absurd. I was right, he was wrong. I said he would lose his keys.”
Lichtman then erupted in defense of his keys, stating that they were “not wrong” before accusing Uygur of taking a “cheap shot” at him.
“I read your own followers’ comments and they all trashed you, every one of them and supported me,” the professor said, adding that Uygur was “making it personal.”
Uygur then shot back with, “you don’t know anything” and stated that he was “deluded,” which angered Lichtman even more and prompted him to start listing his credentials. “I’ve published 13 books. How many books have you published?” he shouted.
The two then continued to bicker back and forth before Uygur stated that Lichtman deserves “a tall glass of shut-up juice.”
“So can you just shut-up for a second and let someone who knows what they’re doing talk,” he said. Lichtman then reiterated that he will “not stand for personal attacks” and accused Uygur of committing “blasphemy” against him.
