‘ANGRY JOE’: The President Viciously Vents His Rage On Aides, Report Says

How a person acts in public and how they act in private can differ greatly. In public President Joe Biden portrays himself as a kindly albeit gaffe-prone grandfatherly figure, whereas a different image of the president was reported by Axios. The man behind the curtain is quick to angry outbursts and profanity prone.

Former and current staffers for Biden reported having been witness to and being the target of Biden’s angry admonitions. The 80-year-old president is reported to have said statements like “God dammit, how the f**k don’t you know this?!”, “Don’t f**king bullsh*t me!”, and “Get the f**k out of here!” The tirades have been so potent that some aides refuse to meet the president alone and take a colleague with them when they have to meet him.

One official commented that “No one is safe” from Biden’s ire. Biden’s angry rants were particularly memorable against his former COVID czar Jeff Zients (who is presently Biden’s chief of staff) when back in 2021 there was a shortage of testing kits. A spokesman for Zients  who was pressed on the issue commented “I’m not going to speak to what internal convos may or may not have happened between Jeff and the president.” The White House did not comment.

These temper-filled rants are nothing new. Jeff Connaughton, a former Biden campaign and Senate aide, recalled that during Biden’s time as a senator, he was an “egomaniacal autocrat … determined to manage his staff through fear.” When a 23-year-old aide back in 2008 told the senator that it was “time to do some fundraising calls”, Biden snapped and told the staffer to “[g]et the f**k out of the car .” Connaughton commented that Biden “hides his sharper edge to promote his folksy Uncle Joe image — which is why, when flashes of anger break through, it seems so out of public character.”

Occasionally, some of these angry outbursts do come out in public. Back in 2022, Breitbart News published an article that captures a number of times when Biden got angry with voters who asked questions about his family’s controversial business dealings. Biden was shown to be shouting at one voter to “Get your words straight” and that he was “a damn liar, man.” Another incident from 2020 was Biden snapping after being questioned about his mental fitness, Biden responded by saying “C’mon man. That’s like you saying before you got on this program you take a test where you’re taking cocaine or not?” and asking the interview “[a]re you a junky?”

Biden had a hot-mic moment when he referred to Fox News’s White House Correspondent Peter Doocy as a “stupid son of a bi*ch” when Doocy asked the president about inflation.
