A large group of anti-ICE protesters stormed an office belonging to Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) in Biddeford after a man was shot and killed after reportedly attempting to run over agents with his vehicle.

The shooting occurred shortly before 7:30 a.m. near the intersection of Pool and Hill streets. According to Maine House Speaker Ryan Fecteau, a Biddeford resident, one person died at the scene of a U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement (ICE) operation.

State police and the Department of Public Safety responded to secure the scene, and the FBI is leading the investigation. Local outlets identified the deceased as a 26-year-old Colombian national.

News of the shooting spread quickly through local networks. Within hours, groups opposed to ICE operations gathered in Portland and other Maine communities.

Dozens of protesters wearing shirts reading “F**k ICE”, “ICE Out” and other slogans, with signs saying the same, could be seen marching through Biddeford within a couple hours of the shooting. A number of protesters made their way to Collins’ office, where they could be heard chanting “Throw her out” and other anti-ICE slogans.

Police monitored the situation but did not report immediate injuries or major property damage

ICE has stated that agents fired after the man attempted to run over them with his vehicle. It is unclear whether the deceased individual was an-anti-ICE activist or a target of immigration enforcement actions as of this report.

Some video footage of the aftermath of the incident has been circulating on social media, though no conclusive angles of the shooting itself have been released at this time. Authorities have said evidence collection is ongoing, and the FBI investigation will examine available recordings and witness statements.

Officials emphasized that the probe remains active, with updates expected shortly as details emerge.
