Baltimore Athletic Director Charged With Creating AI-Generated, Racist Voice Recording Of Principal
A Maryland school athletic director has been criminally charged after it was discovered that he crafted an AI-generated voicemail impersonation of the Pikesville High School principal. The fake voicemail contained racial slurs in order to slander the principal as a racist.
Dhazon Darrien, a black man, is facing a number of criminal charges as part of his effort to allegedly slander the white Pikesville principal as a racist. Charges include stalking, theft, disruption of school operations, and retaliation against a witness.
Police opened an investigation in January after a voice recording allegedly sent by school principal Eric Eiswert began to spread. Eiswert was temporarily removed from his position as head of the school from his position as head of the school after the school received an overwhelming number of complaints when the alleged recording went viral on social media.
“You know, I seriously don’t understand why I have to constantly put up with these dumbasses here every day,” the recording said. “Between these ungrateful black kids who can’t test their way out of a paper bag, or these teachers who don’t get it, how hard is it to get these students to meet their grade level expectations?”
“And if I have to get one more complaint from one more Jew in this community, I’m going to join the other side,” it continued.
Police now say that they have conclusive evidence that the recording was crafted by Darien, who was attempting to retaliate against Eiswert. The principal was investigating Darien’s alleged misuse of school funds.
Baltimore County State’s Attorney Scott Shellenberger referred to the incident as a first-of-its-kind case. While announcing the charges, Shellenberger told reporters that it is important to “take a broader look at how this technology can be used and abused to harm other people.”
Darien was released on $5,000 bond, according to a report from The Post Millennial.
