The fairytale reunion of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez, once dubbed “Bennifer” captivated fans worldwide symbolizing a second chance at love that many only dream of. Yet, even the most storied romances can face harsh realities.

Recently, noticeable rifts have appeared between the couple sparking rumors and concerns among their followers. Notably, Affleck was absent from the Met Gala on May 6, an event where Lopez not only attended but served as co-chair. Officially, Affleck was tied up with the shooting of “The Accountant 2,” but murmurs of a deeper discord were already circulating.

A source close to the couple has revealed to In Touch that Affleck has “moved out” of their shared home, signaling a significant downturn in their relationship. “The writing is on the wall – it’s over,” the insider stated. “They’re headed for a divorce – and for once, [Ben’s] not to blame!”

“He decided to call it quits on his marriage to the A-list singer,” the source disclosed. “He’s focusing on his work and his kids now. Ben already moved out and they’ll likely have to sell the dream house they spent two years searching for. They’ll never stop loving each other, but she can’t control him, and he can’t change her. There’s no way it could have lasted.”

The development points to a culmination of longstanding issues, primarily revolving around their differing approaches to fame and public life. In her documentary “The Greatest Love Story Never Told,” Lopez expressed the initial challenges, saying, “Getting back together, I said, ‘Listen, one of the things I don’t want is a relationship on social media.’ Then I sort of realized it’s not a fair thing to ask. It’s sort of, like, you’re going to marry a boat captain and you go, ‘Well, I don’t want the water.’” J-Lo noted, “I don’t think [Ben] is very comfortable with me doing this, [but] he doesn’t want to stop me.”

Lopez and Affleck first met in 2001 on the set of the film “Gigli.” They began dating in 2002, becoming a media sensation almost immediately. Their engagement was announced in November 2002, highlighted by the famous pink diamond engagement ring that Affleck gave to Lopez.

However, the intense media pressure proved too much for the couple, and they called off their engagement in early 2004. After years apart, during which they both married and divorced other partners, Lopez and Affleck rekindled their relationship in 2021. This reunion delighted fans and captured headlines once again. They married in July 2022, blending their families and starting a new chapter together.

The insider mentioned, “Ben would never try to stifle [Jennifer]’s dreams or tell her she can’t do something that advances her career, even though she can be quite controlling of him.” Despite their attempts to compromise, the differences that once drove them apart seemingly remain unresolved.

“They waited almost two decades to get back together, but in the end, they just couldn’t make it work,” the insider lamented. “They both said they’d matured and learned from their mistakes, but some of the bigger issues that tore them apart the first time remained the same.”
