Biden tells Lester Holt, “This Is Not a Third Obama Term”

Joe Biden was recently interviewed by Lester Holt and the president-elect stated specifically that his time in the White House will “not be a third Obama term.” Biden appears to be more interested in doing leadership his way and many might remember that it took some time for former President Barack Obama to finally endorse his old running mate.

The interview with Lester Holt, for NBC News, was Biden’s first since media networks projected him the president-elect and states began certifying their results.

Holt said to Biden, “What do you say to those who are wondering if you’re trying to create a third Obama term?” Biden quickly responded that “this is not a third Obama term because we face a totally different world than we faced in the Obama-Biden administration… President Trump has changed the landscape. It’s become America First. It’s been America alone. We find ourselves in a position where our alliances are being frayed.”

Biden continued, saying “that’s why I’ve found people who join the administration and keep points that represent the spectrum of the American people as well as the spectrum of the Democratic Party.”

It is not yet 100% clear who Biden will officially chose for his administration, but there are numerous ideas floating around the news networks and social media. Biden did post yesterday about his team and the diversity he plans to have and reminded Americans there will be challenges.

He stated on his post, “While this team has unmatched experience and accomplishments, they also reflect the idea that we cannot meet the challenges we face with old thinking or unchanged habits.
