Rick Scott Goes On Twitter Tirade Against Biden For “Pacifist” Approach To China

Sen. Rick Scott didn’t pull any punches when describing his problems with the Biden Administration’s approach to communist China. In his view, the China threat is one that America needs to confront seriously and aggressively, but President Biden prefers to approach it in a “pacifist” manner.

Sen. Scott said as much during an appearance on John Catsimatidis on WABC radio show, “Cats Roundtable.” Speaking to Catsimatidis, Sen. Scott saidAll that Biden does is pacify China.” Continuing, he added “I don’t know what it is, but this is a guy who won’t stand up to dictators around the world.

That echoed a recent tweet of Sen. Scott’s, in which he said “Communist China has chosen to be our enemy. The CCP wants to destroy our way of life, and @JoeBiden shows nothing but weak appeasement. The American people deserve a leader in Washington who stands up to evil regimes and puts America first.”

In another tweet, also posted on Thursday the 23rd, Sen. Scott said “Communist China wants to destroy our way of life. We ALL have to be a part of decoupling from them, and that starts with this administration.

He also called on America to take the Chinese threat to Taiwan, the source of most semiconductors used by Western industry, more seriously in a tweet and WSJ op-ed. In the tweet, in which he shared his article, Sen. Scott said: “I’m glad we’re taking the threat Communist China poses to Taiwan seriously, but more must be done. We need to pass my Taiwan Invasion Prevention Act to reinforce the U.S.-Taiwan relationship & strengthen Taiwan.

The day before, Sen. Scott accused China of aiming for “global domination,” saying “Xi and the Communist Party of China are on a quest for global domination, and whether it’s with spy balloons, TikTok or drones, they will stop at nothing to infiltrate our society and steal our data.”

Those comments come as part of a larger attack of Sen. Scott’s on China. In a recent press release, for example, Sen. Scott called on Congress to pass a package of laws he introduced that would isolate the Communist regime and strike back against Chinese data theft operations. In his words:

“Communist China’s disturbing actions in recent days have been yet another reminder that Xi’s regime will stop at nothing to exploit Americans and take advantage of the United States. But a Chinese spy balloon is only one of many threats from the Chinese Communist Party as it works toward world domination. We cannot take these threats lightly.

“I have been fighting for years to take an all of the above approach to cut ties with and isolate the evil Communist Chinese regime, protect America’s national security and the interests of our allies and keep Americans safe from China’s spying, data theft and covert operations. Today I am proud to introduce multiple pieces of legislation which advance these priorities, put American interests first and keep Communist China in check. I’m proud to have such strong, bipartisan support from my colleagues and look forward to fighting this Congress to pass these good bills, hold Communist China accountable and keep American families safe.

His office claimed that the package of five bills would, if passed, “prohibit the U.S. Government from buying drones made by America’s adversaries, protect Taiwan from Communist China’s growing aggression, sever all financial transactions between the U.S. and Communist China once it engages in armed aggression against Taiwan, reestablish the China Initiative at Department of Justice, and require a list to be published listing all countries who have a bilateral security arrangement with Communist China to protect Americans abroad and prevent CCP police stations in the US.
