President Joe Biden’s proposed 2024 budget, which was released Thursday, hopes to fund sex-change surgeries and gender-affirming treatments for military veterans. “Recognizing the diversity of America’s veterans, the Administration is also taking action to advance equity across veterans’ services,” the budget reads.

“In addition to ending the ban on transgender service, the Administration is committed to providing gender affirming care to the Nation’s veterans — and last year, the VA announced that it was extending survivor benefits to certain survivors of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex veterans.”

“The Budget requests more than $3 billion to advance gender equity and equality across a broad range of sectors,” the document adds. In 2021, the Department of Veterans Affairs removed a 20-year-old ban that prevented using VA benefits for “gender-affirming care.”

Indiana Republican Rep. Jim Banks admonished President Biden’s budget in a Twitter post. “What’s in Biden’s budget?   $150 million for illegal immigrant’s legal fees $3 BILLION to “advance gender equity” $10.9 BILLION for US “global health leadership,” Rep. Banks wrote.

“The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget (CRFB) has analyzed President Biden’s FY 2024 budget proposal and found that it would increase federal spending and borrowing to historic levels,” Trending Politics previously reported. The CRFB estimated Biden’s budget will increase the federal debt to 117% of the GDB by the year 2031.

“The CRFB recommends that policymakers address the long-term fiscal challenges facing the country by reforming entitlement programs, improving the tax system, and reducing wasteful spending.” Read more here.
