Biden’s White House Christmas Tree Hilariously Falls Down
In what could be seen as a metaphor for the current administration, the Christmas tree at the White House was blown over by strong winds on Monday evening.
The towering tree, traditionally a symbol of holiday spirit and stability, succumbed to unexpected gusts. The White House Christmas tree tradition, also known as the National Christmas Tree, is a historic and celebrated American holiday custom.
The tree is currently trying to be propped up by a crane.
The tradition traces back to 1889 during President Benjamin Harrison’s tenure when the first recorded Christmas tree was set up inside the White House.
The tradition has evolved over the years, and in 1923, President Calvin Coolidge initiated the first outdoor National Christmas Tree lighting ceremony. This ceremony has since become a major annual event, attracting thousands of attendees and broadcasted to millions.
It is set to take place this Thursday.
