WATCH: Bill Maher Thinks Biden Campaign Is Sinking, Rattles Off Devastating Poll Numbers

“Real Time” host Bill Maher floated a theory that President Biden’s overall poll numbers are worse than recent surveys show due to the fact that he continues to hemorrhage support among demographics that were key to his election in 2020.

During Friday’s episode of “Real Time,” Maher rattled off a series of troubling numbers for the Biden campaign. “45 percent of Hispanic voters prefer Biden compared to 39 percent for Trump. Last time, he won 59 percent. That was 2020, so he’s lost four points there,” he said.

Maher then referenced Biden’s recent trip to a historically black college where he delivered a race-baiting and divisive speech. Biden told graduates that they would need to work “ten times harder” than anyone else to succeed due to their race, a remark the HBO host classified as “pandering.”

He said, what is democracy if you have to be 10 times better than anyone else to get a fair shot? That seemed like pandering to me. Black voters under 50. He led by 80 points in 2020. Now by 37, still a lot, but he’s lost 43 points off the key constituency,” Maher said. “Student loans, he’s forgiven $140 billion in student loans, only 34 percent of debt holders.”

” I mean, if you can’t win the people you’re pandering t0, yeah I mean I get it politics is somewhat about pandering, that’s not even an insult, you’re supposed to do what people want to a certain degree, but also be a leader. But if you’re not winning these groups and he’s lost 8 percent off women since 2020 and yet I read in winning these groups and he’s lost 8 percent off women since 2020 and yet I read in the polls he pulled ahead this week. Explain that to me.”

President Biden has been losing support among a number of key demographics that were key to his 2020 election victory, including younger voters, black voters and suburban women.

According to an April survey from NBC News, Biden leads Trump among black voters with a 71% to 13% advantage, a massive decrease from 2020 highs. Black voter enthusiasm also appears to be down, as just 59% of black voters said they had significant interest in the 2024 election, down from 74% who said the same four years ago at a similar point in the race.
