Senator Kennedy of Louisiana, that brilliant, steel-spined fighter on the right that is willing to stand up to anyone from Brandon to Fauci, is back at it, back at fighting for the right. This time he is thrashing Biden over the recent speech in which he ranted about threats to “our democracy” while backlit with a bright red light and dress blues-clad Marines. It was like Emperor Palpatine had a better sense of fascist aesthetics.
During that speech, which took place in Independence National Historical Park, Biden said, at one point:
MAGA forces are determined to take this country backwards — backwards to an America where there is no right to choose, no right to privacy, no right to contraception, no right to marry who you love.
They promote authoritarian leaders, and they fan the flames of political violence that are a threat to our personal rights, to the pursuit of justice, to the rule of law, to the very soul of this country.
[…]And they see their MAGA failure to stop a peaceful transfer of power after the 2020 election as preparation for the 2022 and 2024 elections.
They tried everything last time to nullify the votes of 81 million people. This time, they’re determined to succeed in thwarting the will of the people.
That’s why respected conservatives, like Federal Circuit Court Judge Michael Luttig, has called Trump and the extreme MAGA Republicans, quote, a “clear and present danger” to our democracy.
You’re a threat to democracy and the senile old man with a backdrop straight out of a comic book is here to save democracy. Got it?
Well Senator Kennedy isn’t on board with bowing down to that claim, as some RINOs bizarrely are. He took Biden to task for the ridiculous speech, saying:
“Well, I guess — I guess, Brian, I’d make three points. Number one, after listening to the President’s speech, I really understand why it’s an unassailable fact that age does not guarantee wisdom. Number two, we saw — the President Biden we saw last night was really every inch Joe Biden the politician. His speech was a very cynical attempt to fill our heads with stupid. And number three, I thought to myself, what a missed opportunity to talk to the American people straight up about the reasons when they lie down and sleep at night, they can’t.
“He could have talked about crime, inflation, learning loss by our children, the mountains of fentanyl coming across the border, killing our teenagers. Instead, he chose to say to the American people, ‘If you don’t agree with me about higher taxes, more government, if you don’t agree with me that moms are birthing people, if you don’t agree with me that government has a constitutional right to talk to your five-year-old about sexuality, you’re a bad person, and you’re not even an American.’ And it was — I guess, after it was over, I said to myself, it’s really true. I’ve said this before, but the water’s not going to clear up in Washington until we get the pigs out of the creek, and no one is coming to save us but ourselves. I hope people will go vote.”
Further, Kennedy likened Biden’s long screed about how horrible MAGA Republicans are to Hillary’s infamous “basket of deplorables” comment and skewered Bien for pushing the horrid values of the left later on in the Fox News appearance, saying:
“Well, he sounds — that sounds like a long-winded description and definition of what Secretary Clinton called deplorables. The people that President Biden is talking about, some of whom supported President Trump, some didn’t, are the people who get up every day, go to work, obey the law, pay their taxes, try to teach their kids morals.
“They do want to make — they are proud of America. They do want to make America great again. They just don’t agree with President Biden’s neo-socialist woke agenda. They don’t believe in bigger government. They don’t believe in higher taxes. They don’t believe in more spending. They don’t believe in more regulation. They don’t believe in more debt. They don’t believe that we ought to turn our cops into social workers. They don’t believe that stuff.
“And I think — I think it’s — I’m very disappointed that the President would call people who don’t agree with him those kind of names. I just think he’s made a political mistake, but it says something about his administration.”
Watch him here:
Kennedy’s a fighter, and he certainly understands the reality of the situation as created by Biden and his handlers. If only more Republicans were able to fight with such vigor against the radical left and call it out constantly, as Sen. Kennedy does!
