The mother of Ashli Babbitt, the Trump supporting woman who was murdered on January 6th, 2021, was arrested on Friday at the U.S. Capitol for jaywalking.

Two years ago today, Babbitt was shot and killed by Capitol police after she walked into the Capitol building. Babbitt was attempting to get through a door when a Capitol Police officer shot her in the neck. She later died at the hospital.

On Friday, Babbitt’s mother Micki went to D.C. to protest her daughters death as she continues to look for answers.

“They arrested Ashli Babbitt’s mom, Micki, for jaywalking!” tweeted StopHate.com on Twitter. “I guess she’s lucky they didn’t murder her like they did her daughter.”

Many users noted that if Micki was a Black Lives Matter protestor, she would have not been arrested.

“If these were climate change protesters or BLM activists, the police would have let them sit in the street for hours. But if a patriotic mother wants to mourn the murder of her daughter … instant arrest. These “police” should be ashamed of themselves.”

“First time I heard of anyone even getting stopped for jaywalking in DC, let alone arrested.”

“I have lived in DC for over 12 years. Lived in Arlington for 7 years prior to DC and worked in DC. First time in 19 years I have seen an arrest for jaywalking in DC.”

“How do you get arrested for jaywalking??? It’s a ticket… They did this on purpose.”

“You get a ticket for jaywalking not thrown in cuffs. This isn’t adding up.”
