As he brought an already cringe-worthy press conference to sell his ‘Bidenomics’ policies to a close, President Joe Biden very abruptly informed the attending reporters that he had to cut the conference short. Biden, appearing to be a bit startled told the gathered press, “I apologize, I have to go to the situation room with another issue. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.”
As noted by Trending Politics’ Collin Rugg, this bizarre episode followed only as “Israel readies to launch a ground invasion in Gaza, a move that the United States has tried delaying.”
“Is the U.S. supporting the hostages for a ceasefire deal?” a reporter asked Biden.
Biden turned around and said, “We should have a ceasefire. Not a ceasefire. We should have those hostages released and then we can talk.”
According to CSPAN which covered the abrupt end of the presser, “It is being reported that Hamas just released two more hostages.” Commentators on X speculated various explanations ranging from attacks alleged to have occurred on American bases in Syria and Iraq. Sprinter reported, “a massive missile attack in coordination with kamikaze bpl is underway on almost all key US military bases in Syria and Iraq. Al-Omar, Et-Tanf, Ash-Shadadi base were attacked….. US President Joseph Joe Biden interrupted the press conference due to the sudden deterioration of the situation in the Middle East.”

X user @amuse offered a different theory writing, “There are unconfirmed reports that Russian President Putin had a heart attack. Is this why Biden had to retreat to the situation room today?”
According to Reuters, The White House reported that Iran was ” in some cases “actively facilitating” rocket and drone attacks by Iranian-backed proxy groups on U.S. military bases in Iraq and Syria.” The outlet noted that Biden directed the Pentagon to prepare for additional attacks and respond as appropriate.
John Kirby, White House spokesman confirmed there has been an increase in similar attacks over the last several days, particularly over the weekend, but said that threats to U.S. interests would not “go unchallenged.” He added that the Biden Administration has reason to believe the groups attacking the military bases were supported by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) and the Iranian government.
“We know that Iran is closely monitoring these events, and in some cases, actively facilitating these attacks and spurring on others who may want to exploit the conflict for their own good, or for that of Iran,” he said.
