Andrew and Tristan Tate were released from Romanian jail on Friday and have been placed on house arrest.
A spokesperson for Andrew and Tristan told TMZ , “They will be placed under house arrest while the investigation continues.” They added their team is ecstatic about the news. Both Andrew and Tristan are excited to be reunited with their families and are thanking their fans for supporting by them.
In April 2022, a man called the U.S. embassy to report that his former girlfriend, an American citizen, was being held captive in the Tate brothers’ home in Pipera, Romania. In December 2022, both Tate brothers and two women were arrested on suspicion of human trafficking and forming an organized crime group, with one individual also suspected of rape.
The brothers’ pre-trial detention was extended several times, with their period of detention being prolonged to the end of April 2023. In March 2023, a cease and desist letter was sent to one of the accusers, and the Tate brothers’ legal team alleged a violation of international human rights. Witnesses and accusers were targeted in an online harassment campaign.
