On Tuesday night, Tucker Carlson released an exclusive interview with former Capitol police officer Tarik Johnson. The officer told Carlson how once the Capitol was breached he received no response when he asked for permission to evacuate the Senate. This severe lack of communication led Johnson to take matters into his own hands and evacuate the Senate by himself.
Johnson and Carlson discussed how, despite intelligence knowing a demonstration would be occurring that day, “front-line officers and supervisors were not prepared at all.”

Johnson also said that after January 6th, multiple capitol police officers stopped acting as partisan public servants. The former officer added that he was never asked to testify by the January 6th committee, presumably because he was pictured wearing a “MAGA” hat a protestor put on his head.
The MAGA hat picture led to him losing his job and even his pension.

In his introduction monologue Carlson called for all January 6th footage be released to the public, saying, “sunlight is always and everywhere the best disinfectant.”
