BREAKING: GOP State Senator And His Family Pass Away In Tragic Plane Crash
A devastating plane crash occurred outside the eastern Utah tourist town of Moab on Sunday night, claiming the lives of all four passengers on board. North Dakota Senate Majority Leader David Hogue confirmed the tragic news via email on Monday morning, identifying the victims as Senator Doug Larsen, his wife Amy, and their two young children.
According to KFGO, the aircraft, a single-engine Piper plane, met its unfortunate fate shortly after departing from Canyonlands Airfield, located approximately 15 miles north of Moab. The Grand County Sheriff’s Department released a statement on Facebook detailing the incident.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board.
According to Hogue’s email, the Larsen family had been visiting relatives in Arizona and were en route back home. They had made a pit stop in Utah to refuel their plane.
Senator Doug Larsen was a self-employed individual and had dedicated 28 years of his life to the North Dakota Army National Guard. He had been representing District 34 (Mandan) in the North Dakota Senate since 2021.
