In a shocking incident, USC All-American basketball player Bronny James, son of NBA legend LeBron James, collapsed during a workout on Monday and suffered a cardiac arrest. The young athlete was immediately rushed to the hospital, where medical staff worked tirelessly to stabilize his condition.

Thankfully, as of now, Bronny James is reported to be in stable condition and is no longer in the intensive care unit (ICU). The news of the incident spread rapidly across social media platforms after NBA insider Shams Charania broke the story on Twitter.

An official statement regarding the incident confirmed the severity of the situation. The statement read:  “Yesterday while practicing, Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest. Medical staff was able to treat Bronny and take him to the hospital. He is now in stable condition and no longer in ICU. We ask for respect and privacy for the James family, and we will update the media when there is more information.”

“LeBron and Savannah wish to publicly send their deepest thanks and appreciation to the USC medical and athletic staff for their incredible work and dedication to the safety of their athletes,” the statement finished.

While the incident seems to have reached a stable point, further updates on Bronny’s condition are yet to be disclosed. Cardiac events among young athletes have been a topic of concern in sports recently.
