Former President Donald Trump shared the news on Thursday afternoon that Lou Dobbs, the prominent conservative political commentator, author, and former television host, has passed away at the age of 78.
Dobbs was a veteran of Fox News, where he hosted “Lou Dobbs Tonight” from 2003 to 2009 and again from 2011 to 2021. After leaving Fox News, he continued his commentary on “The Great America Show,” which aired on iHeart Radio and loudobbs.com.

Dobbs began his career with CNN at its inception in 1980, serving as a reporter and network vice president. He was the host and managing editor of CNN’s business program “Moneyline,” which premiered in 1980 and was later renamed “Lou Dobbs Tonight” in 2003. Dobbs first resigned from CNN in 1999 but returned in 2001, eventually resigning again in November 2009. In addition to his television career, Dobbs hosted “Lou Dobbs Radio” and continued to influence conservative media.
