BREAKING: Mass Shooting Reported At UNLV; Suspect Deceased
On Wednesday, an emergency unfolded at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), involving an active shooter. This event reportedly resulted in several casualties, and the individual responsible for the shooting has been reported as dead.
Metropolitan Police Department responded to a confirmed active shooter situation at Beam Hall, a central building on the university’s campus. The situation escalated around 12:20 p.m. local time, with additional shots being reported at the Student Union.
Three students who were on the second level of the Beam building said they sheltered in place for about 30 minutes before being safely escorted out by police. During this time, they reported hearing multiple gunshots and witnessed a window being shot out.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, in a post, indicated that there appeared to be several victims, although specific details regarding the number and condition of the victims have not been officially released yet.
The university officials issued an urgent directive to students and staff on campus, advising them to “RUN-HIDE-FIGHT,” a standard protocol in active shooter situations.

FBI agents were also reported to be assisting local law enforcement and were present at the scene.
