BREAKING: National Guard To Be Deployed In Los Angeles Following Riot Outbreak

White House border czar Tom Homan announced Saturday that National Guard units will be deploying to Los Angeles in order to quell two days of violent, left-wing riots that have plagued the city.

For the second time in under 24 hours, violent riots erupted in Los Angeles County when a mob surrounded a federal staging area in the city of Paramount. The mob proceeded to violently attack agents with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), as well as  the FBI, by tossing rocks at moving vehicles and surrounding agents.

An untold number of agents were injured as they were once again left without protection from the Los Angeles Police Department for the second day in a row.

While speaking with Fox News, White House border czar Tom Homan confirmed that Homan said authorities are “stepping up” and “mobiliz[ing] to address violence and destruction occurring near raid locations where rioters are concentrated. “American people, this is about enforcing the law, and again, we’re not going to apologize for doing it,” Homan said.

The border czar further announced that National Guard assets would be deployed in order to combat the riots.

“We are making Los Angeles safer. Mayor Bass should be thanking us. She says they are going to mobilize—guess what? We are already mobilizing. We are going to bring the National Guard in tonight,” Homan told Fox News.

As of 5:20 p.m. local time, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has responded and issued an order to disperse to rioters. Local and federal law enforcement assets could be seen clearing makeshift roadblocks that were set up by rioters earlier in the day. On-the-ground reporter Anthony Cabassa obtained footage showing a massive police offensive against the rioters not long after, which included the deployment of tear gas and rubber bullets.

Footage obtained by Fox News border correspondent shows an intense moment when federal agents were attacked by rioters hurling rocks at their vehicles in Paramount. “You can hear & see the windows & windshield breaking w/ each hit. Federal source who sent me this video tells this attack could have killed one of the Border Patrol agents or caused a serious crash,” Melugin reported.

“The rocks broke clean through the windshield, leaving a gaping hole,” he added before providing follow-up images. Multiple injuries were reported to DHS agents as a result of the attack.

White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller described the unrest as a “violent insurrection” when reacting to the shocking video.

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino confirmed that the bureau has already made arrests and is actively working to identify additional suspects, including those who tossed rocks at ICE agents. “We are currently seeking information regarding the identity of the person(s) throwing rocks at vehicles conducting critical law enforcement operations,” Bongino announced in an X post.

“One of the perpetrators in this video is wearing a helmet, and we’re going to use our investigative tools to locate the individual,” he added. “I strongly suggest you turn yourself in, it’s only a matter of time.”

The unrest comes just under 24 hours after a mob attacked ICE agents who were conducting operations in the Los Angeles fashion district before surrounding a federal building. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell have come under intense scrutiny after local law enforcement assets were ordered to stand down for nearly two hours.

“What took place in Los Angeles yesterday was appalling. As rioters attacked federal ICE and law enforcement officers on the LA streets, Mayor Bass took the side of chaos and lawlessness over law enforcement,” Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons said in a statement.

“Our brave officers were vastly outnumbered, as over 1,000 rioters surrounded and attacked a federal building. It took over two hours for the Los Angeles Police Department to respond, despite being called multiple times. The brave men and women of ICE were in Los Angeles arresting criminal illegal aliens including gang members, drug traffickers and those with a history of assault, cruelty to children, domestic violence, robbery, and smuggling.”

ICE operations in Los Angeles this weekend have resulted in the arrest of 118 illegal immigrants, including five gang members and those with prior criminal histories of drug trafficking, assault, cruelty to children, domestic violence, robbery, and alien smuggling, DHS said. Nationwide, more than 2,000 illegal aliens have already been arrested over the weekend.

Bill Essayli, U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California, announced that immigration operations will continue unabated despite violent acts from far-left extremists.

“Federal law enforcement operations are proceeding as planned this weekend in Los Angeles County. I urge the public to refrain from interfering with these lawful actions,” he said. “Anyone who obstructs federal agents will face arrest and prosecution.”
