Despite the scramble, Biden did not visit the hospital. Instead, he was escorted to the airport, where he boarded Air Force One to return to his residence in Delaware for isolation and recovery. The quick pivot to air travel was coordinated with meticulous attention to security and safety, as another clip from the audio indicated: “So, if you can just start calling out what intersections they’re going to, I think that’s going to be the easiest. Let’s start with the big ones. Units helping us out with this, this Frag-O on the POTUS movement. If you can monitor event 8, event 8 channel is where movement will occur,” an officer coordinated.

The final moments before President Biden’s departure were tense but executed flawlessly, as noted by a voice on the radio: “Great job, everybody. If I can just ask everybody to please just stand by until we get the plane off the ground, uh, and then we can go ahead and secure those units. All my Air Force units be advised motorcade is leaving Air Force One.”
