BREAKING: Police Raid Home Of Ilhan Omar’s Son
An apartment allegedly belonging to Rep. Ilhan Omar’s son was raided by Minneapolis police Tuesday night, according to an unconfirmed report.
Minnesota-based Alpha News, citing unnamed law enforcement sources, reported that officers executed a search warrant at the residence of Omar’s son, Adnan, and seized firearms and ammunition.
The outlet’s Liz Collin reported that police also arrested Adnan’s roommate, 22-year-old Abdulrahman Abdi.
The reported connection between the apartment and Omar’s son has not been independently confirmed. Omar and her son have not been accused of wrongdoing.
Earlier Tuesday, Minneapolis police stopped Abdi and cited him for driving without a license or proof of insurance, the department told the Daily Mail.
Police said Abdi was released at the scene as officers began impounding the vehicle. A firearm was allegedly discovered inside during that process.
Officers later tracked Abdi to an address on Marquette Avenue and arrested him “without incident,” according to the department.

Abdi was booked into the Hennepin County Jail on a weapons charge and released Wednesday night, jail records reportedly show.
Court records reviewed by the Daily Mail show Abdi has been convicted 10 times, with most of the offenses classified as misdemeanors.

Last year, he was convicted of speeding while driving with a license that had already been revoked over a previous offense. Abdi also received a felony conviction in 2024 after police said he drove a Jeep Grand Cherokee at 108 mph alongside a Dodge Durango in St. Paul.
He pleaded guilty to fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle and was sentenced to one day in the Dakota County Jail. A sentencing order also placed him on supervised probation for two years.
Other convictions dating back to 2022 include using a cellphone while driving, excessive speeding and failing to provide proof of insurance.
