BREAKING: Potential Terror Attack Rocks NYC, Suspect Identified

A deranged gunman opened fire inside a high-rise Midtown skyscraper during Monday’s evening rush, killing at least five — including an NYPD officer — before turning the weapon on himself, law enforcement sources told The New York Post.

The shooter, identified as 27-year-old Shane Tamura of Las Vegas, stormed into 324 Park Avenue — a sleek 44-story tower home to Blackstone and NFL headquarters — armed with an assault-style rifle just after 6:30 p.m.

Witnesses described chaos erupting as workers scrambled for their lives. “It sounded like a barrage of shots … Like an automatic weapon. Like a high-capacity weapon,” one stunned witness said from the first floor.

Tamura, dressed in a blazer, button-down shirt, and dark sunglasses, was seen calmly strolling across the building’s entry plaza with the rifle dangling at his side moments before the carnage began.

“He came in with an assault rifle and started shooting,” said one man, who was calling a loved one while sitting on a nearby stoop, bandaged and shaking. “I was in the lobby at work.”

At least four civilians were killed in the rampage, along with one NYPD officer assigned to a paid detail for the building’s owner, Rudin Properties. Six others were wounded, some critically, officials said.

The shooter reportedly barricaded himself on the 33rd floor, where multiple victims were later found. He was discovered dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Graphic photos obtained by The Post showed the suspect’s lifeless body sprawled on the carpeted office floor near other bloodied victims.

Authorities have not said what business operates on the 33rd floor.

“The scene has been contained and the lone shooter has been neutralized,” NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch wrote on X.

The slain officer was reportedly from the 47th Precinct in the Bronx and had been working off-duty security when he was gunned down.

In a disturbing sideshow, two anti-Israel protesters were arrested after yelling “Free Palestine” during the chaos, sources said — a tasteless disruption as police fought to secure the scene. Eyewitnesses described the area turning into a war zone. “I was one block away and I heard shots being fired,” said Oleksandr Stupak, 30. “A lot of police started to come. I mean. [It’s] crazy.”

Footage from the scene showed NYPD officers performing frantic CPR on a victim in the middle of the street as emergency vehicles swarmed the block.

The FBI and bomb squad also responded as helicopters buzzed overhead and Mayor Eric Adams urged New Yorkers to steer clear of the area.

The motive behind the attack remains under investigation, but officials said Tamura acted alone.

For now, a city already on edge is reeling from yet another deadly act of gun violence — this time at the heart of Manhattan’s power corridor.
