BREAKING: SCOTUS Delivers Massive Decision For Trump, Upholds Key Election Order

President Donald Trump scored an early SCOTUS victory Monday as the high court revived key parts of his election integrity order ahead of the 2026 midterms.

The Supreme Court’s 6-3 decision lifted a lower court order that had blocked the administration from moving forward with new safeguards for mail-in voting in California, 22 other states and the District of Columbia.

Trump’s executive order calls for federal agencies to compile state-specific lists using citizenship and voter eligibility records. It also directs the U.S. Postal Service to deliver mail-in ballots only to voters whose names appear on lists provided by the states.

The justices granted emergency applications filed by the Trump administration and a coalition led by Alabama that included 11 other states.

U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani of Massachusetts blocked key portions of the order in June after the Democratic-led states and D.C. challenged Trump’s authority to overhaul mail-ballot procedures.

SCOTUS concluded that Talwani acted prematurely because federal agencies had not yet completed their plans for implementing the president’s order.

The unsigned ruling did not settle the broader legal fight or determine whether every step taken by the administration will survive future challenges.

“The court’s disposition of this application does not mean that any measure taken by the Government to implement the order will necessarily be lawful. On that score, time will tell,” the court said in the unsigned ruling.

A separate nationwide injunction issued by Talwani in another lawsuit technically remains in place. Monday’s decision, however, strongly signals that the broader order could also be lifted.

The ruling gives Trump a major opening as his administration races to strengthen mail-in voting procedures before the November elections.

Trump has repeatedly raised concerns about the widespread use of mail-in ballots and urged lawmakers to adopt tougher national election safeguards.

The president has also pushed Congress to pass the SAVE America Act, which would require proof of citizenship to register for federal elections and establish voter identification requirements nationwide. The legislation has yet to clear Congress.
